From Xanga: Etiquette IQ

10 to 16 Points: A Regular Miss Manners
You're ready to take tea at Buckingham Palace, do dinner at the White House, Waltz with the diplomats at an embassy ball. Mom, you can hold your own in even the stickiest of situations, relying on tried and true etiquette to guide you along. Now the trick is to tutor your children in these same niceties that allow you to take charge of every social situation with grace and style.
After taking the TV mom quiz, couldn't resist to see where my etiquette IQ was. Glad to see that reading Miss Manners paid off!! Knew that this is where I would fall b/c when my father came down to see Lourdes and took the whole gang to dinner, the following faux pas grated severely on my nerves:
a) someone ordered a more expensive entree than the host, my father, without his expressed permission--you always wait until the host orders and never order anything more expensive, unless the host says it is okay.
b) not really an etiquette faux pas, but a pet peeve: How are you going to order the most expensive entree of the entire party and then not eat it all, trying to be cute? Ugh! I hate fakers who fawn, "Oh! I can't possibly eat that much!" Then come home and fix something to eat b/c they are hun-gray (not hungry, but hun-gray).
c) After my father said that he wanted all the children (including Adrienne, Karina, and Wilson) to order from the Kids' Menu, there was grumbling about, "Wilson usually orders Buffalo Wings." Okay, when YOU are footing the bill, order that, but when you are being hosted, you defer to the host.
But, being the polite lady that I am, I didn't point out bad manners (that would be rude and ill mannered) or say anything. Now, if only my girls could be the polite, well-mannered ladies they could be...
